Yes, but only denim items will be accepted. You can donate any type of denim apparel (not just jeans) this can include colored denim. All decorations, including buttons, grommets, etc. are removed for the recycling process. The denim does not have to be organic cotton or 100% cotton and it doesn’t have to be Vanity denim.
Where are my jeans going?
Once collected, the donated denim is recycled and manufactured into UltraTouch™ Natural Cotton Fiber Insulation by Bonded Logic Inc. The natural cotton fiber insulation is then provided to communities in need. The recipient of this year’s drive has not yet been determined. Cotton Incorporated will handle the donation process, but in the past they have worked with different Habitat for Humanity affiliates. 500 pairs of jeans recycles into approximately enough insulation for one home (based on a formula with the average house being approximately 2,300 square feet and the average wall 8’ x 12’.

About COTTON. FROM BLUE TO GREEN. ®
- Created by Cotton Incorporated in 2006, the COTTON. FROM BLUE TO GREEN.®denim drive is a call to action to donate denim and give it “new life” by converting it into UltraTouch™ natural cotton fiber insulation.
- The COTTON. FROM BLUE TO GREEN.®denim drive was created by Cotton Incorporated to emphasize the natural and environmental attributes of cotton and afford people the opportunity to give back to their community in a unique way.
- Denim, which is cotton, is natural, renewable and able to be recycled.
- In its first three years, the denim drive received nearly 90,000 pieces of denim resulting in more than 185,000 square feet of natural cotton fiber insulation.
- To date, this eco-friendly insulation provided construction material to assist with building efforts in over 180 homes with Habitat for Humanity in the hurricane-affected Gulf Coast Region.
- Cotton Incorporated, funded by U.S. growers of upland cotton and importers of cotton and cotton textile products, is the research and marketing company representing upland cotton. The Program is designed and operated to improve the demand for and profitability of cotton.

About UltraTouch™ Natural Cotton Fiber Insulation
- UltraTouch™ natural cotton fiber insulation is made from high quality natural fibers. These fibers contain inherent qualities that provide for extremely effective sound absorption and maximum thermal performance. UltraTouch™ does not itch and is very easy to handle and work with.
- Sustainability: UltraTouch™ is comprised of 85% recycled fibers. This particular project is considered by us to be 100% post-consumer recycling, which is always the most favorable.
- Safety: The UltraTouch™ product does not contain anything that is hazardous or toxic to humans. The borate that we treat the cotton fibers with, for fire retardency/mold and mildew resistance, has a lower toxicity than table salt. There is no formaldehyde present and product scores higher than traditional insulating products in terms of indoor air quality. While a nuisance dust mask should be worn, the other types of protective clothing typically worn are not necessary.
- Acoustics: The UltraTouch™ product typically has about 30% better sound absorption than traditional insulation(fiberglass). Not only does it provide a healthy choice for your home, but it also creates a much quieter living/working space. It is especially popular in schools for this reason. It's much easier to relax after work when your home can filter out the noise of the outside world.
- Mold/Mildew Resistance: UltraTouch™ is one of the only insulating products that actually contains an active mold/mildew inhibitor. The borate once again provides this quality. Mold remediation is a very costly process and having a product that contains a non-toxic mold and mildew inhibitor throughout your home decreases the odds that it would ever be necessary.
- Bonded Logic Inc., based out of Chandler, Arizona, manufactures several natural fiber insulation products including UltraTouch™, an environmentally safe, non-itch insulation made from natural fibers that offers exceptional acoustic and thermal performance with no carcinogenic warnings, formaldehyde, or chemical irritants used. UltraTouch™ is sold nationwide via building materials distributors and lumberyards. All of the insulation products manufactured at Bonded Logic are Class-A fire rated, safe for the environment, contain no harmful chemicals or irritants, and do not pose off gassing or VOC concerns.
